To the kids: Trick Or Treat in Groups, avoid shady people, have your parents check your candy before you dig in. Other than that, have fun.
To the adults: Get drunk, get high, have fun and make sure you get home safe.

@CIEIRMusic yeah carnival is another pagan party, but it's not for kids and candies, but for adults, a lot of alcohol and sex. Many people here in brazil were born in november

From what I've heard Carnival is basically a more colourful and less Gothic version of it. Dressing in costumes, celebrating, things like that.
