Maybe it's my POV on the matter, but they're strange looking, yet have a look on their face that implies they think whoever is looking at them are the strange ones.

The picture itself reminds me of Split. After reading the story I can see why. It's an over all interesting variation of dying a hero or living long to see yourself become the villain.

Thanks! And, well, honestly, all I can say that it IS true that Shattered is inevitably more remembered than Dual due to the damages he caused. Thus, leaving Dual as a mere 'tall tale' in a sense, to the point that even higher beings would see it as such.
