Oh.my...GOD!!! First off I love the picture very well detailed. Second of all, the short story, I can easily relate to it. Not the supernatural stuff, but the idea that no matter what one can do to improve their lives and be happy it ends up getting wrenched? Holy shit. If she were real I would want to try to help her out.
